Back to school time for most of us means hectic schedules and more than ever to keep track of as more kiddos are starting school!
One way that you can keep everyone’s schedules and activities on track is to color code in your planner. This method is super simple and very functional, so I wanted to share some color coding tips with you today!
Okay, so you’ve got your planner. To color code, you are going to need a variety of pen colors. I love this inexpensive pack of Pilot G2 pens. They’re some of my favorite pens to write with, and this pack has many colors to choose from.
Once you use these pens, it’s easy to see why they are America’s #1 selling gel ink brand. There are 4 point sizes to choose from, and 15 vibrant colors!
Okay, so first you’ll need to decide what “categories” you need for our different pen colors. Some ideas include your spouse, a color for each of your children, a color for pets, home tasks, work tasks, school functions, etc… So, pick out your colors.
Next you’ll make your “key” for your color coding- basically a sheet you can reference until you remember what color goes with what category.
As you can see here is my key- a color for my husband, both of my kiddos, home tasks, work tasks, and the dog.
Now, you can see here how I would use the colors to mark events in my planner.
See, I love how simple and functional this is. Planning does not have to be complicated.
A few good pens are all you need.
Pilot G2 pens are perfect for back to school, work, planning, and more. I absolutely love how smoothly these write and I feel like a good pen makes all the difference in my handwriting. With so many beautiful colors to choose from- you will be well on your way to getting organized- whatever your pen needs.
