I absolutely love the 4th of July, it is one of my favorite holidays. I love holidays, but if I had to rank them, it would probably be #1, Christmas, #2, Halloween, and #3, 4th of July. It just embodies all of the things we love about Summer and America. Today I’ve whipped up some patriotic smores bars which are going to be a hit at your 4th of July party this year. They are so delicious.

They are so easy to make, you need just a few ingredients, but the secret is Golden Grahams cereal. The cereal really makes these treats yummy.

Here’s everything you’ll need to make them-

  • 1 box Golden Grahams (about 8 cups)
  • 1o oz bag of mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup red, white, and blue M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

To make them, you’ll start by melting your butter in a large pot over medium heat. Set aside 1/2 cup marshmallows for later. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows to the pot and stir until all of the marshmallows are melted as well. In a large bowl, pour your entire box of Golden Grahams cereal. Pour the melted marshmallows over the cereal.

Add M&M’s, chocolate chips, and remaining marshmallows and mix well. Take your 9×13 inch baking dish and spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Pour the treats mixture into the pan. Take a piece of parchment paper, larger than your pan, and use that to press the mixture down into the pan evenly. You can add additional M&M’s if you’d like over the top of the mixture, and press those down, as well.

Allow these to sit in the refrigerator for a few hours to set. Then, enjoy!

I seriously could not stop eating these, and your family and friends will love them this Independence Day!

Patriotic Smores Bars

Servings 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 box Golden Grahams about 8 cups
  • 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup M&Ms red, white, and blue
  • 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.


  2. Set aside 1/2 cup marshmallows, add the rest of the marshmallows to your pot, stirring frequently, until melted.

  3. Pour the entire box of Golden Grahams into a large mixing bowl.

  4. Once melted, pour the marshmallows over the cereal.

  5. Add M&Ms, extra marshmallows, and chocolate chips and mix well.

  6. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray, and pour the smores mixture into your pan.

  7. Using a piece of parchment paper, push the mixture down into the pan.

  8. Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, then enjoy!
