Hey ya’ll! I am back to share my 2017 fitness goals with you guys!
I haven’t set fitness goals in a long time, probably because last January I had just had a baby! But, tomorrow we are celebrating his 1st birthday and I thought what better time to get back into it? Better late than never!
Okay, so the first thing I did was sit down and analyze all of the fitness goals I’ve set in the past that just plain didn’t work. This included things like setting a “goal” to lose x amount of lbs a week that just wasn’t doable for me. I really wanted to be sure that I set good goals this time. For the purposes of this post we will call my weight loss goals, goals, but they are more targets for me to hit and I am setting goals each day/week/month to get there. I’m planning to monthly updates on this so you all can see how I’m doing.
Okay, so my goal is to lose 50 lbs during 2017. One thing I’ve always done in the past is aimed for 10 lbs a month, so I would shoot to lose this in 5 months, and it never happened, obviously. This time I am working hard to take things much slower and really learn what works for me. I’ve stretched my goal out over 11 months actually, in hopes to reach my goal in November 2017. My starting weight this go around is 212 lbs. I’ve lost and successfully maintained 20 lbs, so if I can do this 50, I will have lost 70 lbs total, which I feel like is so huge.
I am using this fitness planner, which actually gives me 3 large goals to aim for, so I broke my weight loss goal up into 3 parts – my first goal is 195 lbs (17 lbs lost), 175 lbs (37 lbs lost), and 160 lbs (52 lbs lost). I broke that up over 11 months to be 1 lb a week.
For my first target goal of 195 lbs, I plan to focus mainly on eating well, drinking my water, eating a good variety of foods, and finding fun workouts. My first reward is going to be new makeup. I haven’t really gotten more specific with it than that, but that’s the plan.
So, we’re halfway through December, which was technically my starting month. I’ve lost 1 lb so far, so to be on track I need to lose 3.5 more by the end of the month. This is going to be hard to do with Christmas and all the yummy foods, but I think I can make it happen.
Here are my goals for December-
- Drink 80 oz of water daily
- Get a variety of healthier foods
- No alcohol, and minimal fast food (chickfila wrap if it is a must, NO FRIES) 😉
- Get out and walk, or on the Treadclimber
- Wear my Fitbit daily
- Target weight: 207.5
I am looking forward to challenging myself this year with this and I promise to be back for some good old fashioned accountability.
