Holiday baking is probably one of the things I look forward to the most during the holiday season! Today I have TWO fun ways to make M&M’S® cupcakes for you! Not only are sweet treats the gift of family time getting together and baking, but they also make great gifts to give to family and friends!
Usually for the holidays we hear a lot about cookies and other sweet treats, so I was really looking forward to making these holiday themed cupcakes!
Here’s what we used:
Pillsbury™ cupcake mix (you can use whatever flavor is your favorite!)
Pillsbury™ Funfetti RED Vanilla frosting!
M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Baking Bits (the red & green ones!)
Some fun, festive cupcake wrappers
plus, whatever ingredients your cupcake mix calls for!
Okay, so you are just going to want to make your cupcake batter as per the instructions for what you bought. Then, gather your red & green M&M’S® Baking Bits.
Okay, so for the first method, we’re going to add the M&M’S® baking bits to your cupcake batter! Fill the cupcakes about 1/2 full, add the bits, and then fill the rest of the way.
These M&M’S® Milk Chocolate Baking Bits lose most of their color during baking, but they are a really fun addition to cupcakes, you get little bits of M&M’S® goodness throughout!
The rest of our cupcakes we made the regular way, per the instructions, for our 2nd method!
For the 2nd method, after your cupcakes are done baking, and have cooled, you can make a fun SURPRISE inside cupcake. To do this, just cut a little chunk out of your cupcake (save it!), like I’ve shown, and fill with the baking bits. Replace the cupcake divot and you’ve got a nice surprise. Bonus if you mix up the two types of cupcakes after you add the frosting, because then it really is a surprise to see who ends up with what!
Okay, so now you are ready to add frosting to all of the cupcakes! Pillsbury™ has really come out with some super vibrant icing colors which are so fun and perfect for the holidays!
We went with the red, but there were a few different colors to choose from! So, I just piped the icing on with a piping bag and regular icing tip, but you can really get creative with some fun icing designs, too if you’d like!
How fun are these?! Either way you make them, M&M’S® Milk Chocolate Baking Bits definitely add that touch of fun. You can pick up all of your baking supplies at your local Walmart. We found the icing & cupcake mixes and the M&M’S® baking bits in the baking aisle!
