You guys love all things baby, so I have a fun post for today. I’m sharing our updated toddler bedtime routine since my almost 3-year-old has started attending preschool 4 days a week. He comes home dirty and sweaty and let’s not even think about the preschool germs, so bathing every night has kind of become a necessity. I have to work this into our busy evenings, obviously, between having dinner and bedtime.
So, usually while they are finishing up dinner I’ll gather towels and washcloths, then for my younger son I also grab his pajamas and lotion, too, so that they are ready to go as soon as he is out of the bath and I’m not wandering around looking for things with a wet slippery baby on the loose.
My boys have learned that right after dinner it is bath time every night now since they are both out of the house during the day and going to school, so they hear me start running the water and take off in that direction as soon as they are done eating. I think bath time is their favorite time of day. You can also definitely tell by the toys that end up all over my bathtub that they have a fun time in there.
When it is a school night I love using the JOHNSON’S® Bedtime Moisture Wash to get them calmed down and switched over to night time mode. I have also been loving the JOHNSON’S® No More Tangles 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner for my little one. I felt like he needed something a little extra for his hair as it has gotten longer.
He loves that JOHNSON’S® products are 100% gentle, and I love that they are free of parabens, and phthalates, with over 90% naturally derived ingredients.
He knows that it is lotion time after the bath, and he gets upset with me if I try and skip it. I began that bath time tradition when he was just a little baby, and it has definitely carried through. Pssst… the JOHNSON’S® 2-step wash and lotion routine is proven to build a stronger connection between you and your newborn (or toddler, or preschooler). 😉
The COTTONTOUCH™ Daily Face & Body Lotion absorbs fast (perfect for busy toddlers and babies), and feels soft to the touch. It is the cherry on top of our bedtime routine.
After he is lotioned and dressed in his pajamas, he knows it is time for books next. We read 1 or 2, or 5 depending on the day, haha, and the boys usually play quietly for a bit. They both have a small snack right before bed, yogurt is a favorite at our house.
Then, we brush teeth and head to bed. This makes the bedtime transition smooth when they both know what to expect, but especially for my littlest one. He is all about the routines and this is his favorite.
I love that I can get all of my mom necessities at Rite Aid. They are my go-to store for wellness supplies for me and the littles. I love how easy it is to run in and find what I need, and it is always so peaceful I can get a break from the noise for a bit, too.
