Anyway, looking back, a lot has changed with how I’m using my planner. When the new planners for 2015-2016 launched, I dabbled a little with the new horizontal layout, but at last I’m back using the vertical layout, I think it will always be my favorite at the end of the day. You can find the post where I compared the layouts, here.
So, let’s take a look!
My basic essentials when planning would be my planner, my pens (in this pouch I keep my two favorites- the new Erin Condren party pops pens and my Paper Mate Flairs) and my stickers, which I keep in this accordion file. I have two full of stickers actually and recently bought a half sized binder to try and get them all organized, so hopefully I will get to that soon, because they desperately need to be reorganized. I’m actually going to share my whole planner stash soon, now that I’ve got in a 3 drawer cart I bought just for planner supplies. I mentioned here that I’m clearing out my office to get ready to start preparing the nursery for our new baby, so that’s what’s happening to my planner stuff. I’m hoping to do a whole post on how I’ve got it organized.
Here’s a look at my month at a glance for August, I use this primarily for keeping track of when I want to pay bills and appointments, when we have them.
And here’s how my week looks starting out. I pre-made these headers for the month of August to see how I like dividing the planner up this way- with a section for Home, Etsy, and Blog. You can see I already marked my doctor’s appointment this week because I’ve only been counting down to it for a few months now. Ha! We’re finding out whether we’re having a boy or a girl! This is also why I’m using my pink & blue pens this week!
Otherwise, the week starts off pretty blank.
I usually put a little bit of washi at the bottom of the weeks. Here’s my whole washi stash, I really need to start collecting more. 😉 The washi tape ring is from the lovely Reset Girl!
I’ve got pregnancy stickers galore this week! haha…
Then, I use these stickers to mark my husband’s work schedule.
Then, beneath that I use my meal planning labels to plan out what we’re eating for dinner for the week.
Next I pull out my Filofax to see what blog posts I’m working on this week so I can schedule those in my planner.
That’s basically it for my blog planning unless there’s something special happening that week, such as a sponsored post or something like that. I’m working on a new plan for social media, which I’m thinking of adding check boxes for daily tasks for at the bottom, but I haven’t quite figured out how I want to do it yet.
Next I plan out how to tackle orders for the week and other Etsy tasks that need to be done. I’m trying to stick to every other day or so fulfilling orders.
Finally, I check back at my August calendar and fill in what bills I’m going to be paying this week.
And that’s it ya’ll! Nothing too complicated. Each night I’ll usually sit down and finalize my list for the next day, which usually includes adding a few more “to-do’s” or moving things around.
Here you can see a finished week-
But that’s how I plan my weeks! I also forgot to add in my goals for the week, but I’ll add those in before Monday gets here. You can see how I’ll use arrows to move tasks and then just cross some things off (usually cleaning… ha!) but this is how things generally end up.
You can find the stickers I’ve used over in my shop (use code PLANWITHME10 to save 10% on your purchase- no minimum required!), and you can sign up with your email here to get a $10 coupon for ErinCondren.com!
