For the cookies:

  • 2 ¾ cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla

For the frosting:

  • 16 oz. cream cheese frosting premade
  • 2-3 drops green gel food coloring
  • Christmas tree sprinkles mix
  • Cake decorator or piping bag with star decorating tip

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper or give it a light spray with some non-stick spray.

  3. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set that bowl aside.

  4. In a large bowl, add butter and sugar. Mix it with your mixer for 1-2 minutes until it is light and fluffy.

  5. Add your egg and vanilla. Mix it together until just combined.

  6. Finally, roll the cookie dough into small balls, try to do even amounts of 3 different sizes, and you really don't want the largest one to be bigger than about 1 1/4 inches across. You'll need one small, one medium, and then one larger sized cookie ball for each tree.

  7. Bake 5-7 minutes, until bottoms are golden brown.

  8. Once the cookies are baked and cooled, mix up your frosting. Add the container of frosting and a few drops of green gel food coloring, mix well until the color is mixed throughout.

  9. To assemble the trees, pipe just a little bit of frosting on your largest cookie, add a medium cookie on top, add another bit of frosting, add the smallest cookie on top, then add one final bit of frosting, and finish with a star sprinkle on top.
