Hey guys! Today we’re going to talk about getting kids to help with laundry, and I’ve got a fun printable that you can print and hang in your laundry room to help!
The ages of your kiddos will determine just how much they can help, but even my little one likes to “help” supervised with chores around the house. He can put his own laundry away no problem, but I would definitely need to give a little direction when it comes to washing the laundry and folding. However, he loves it and you can see his face light up and know that he’s gaining confidence in himself and becoming more independent by learning new things with my help.
There are a lot of ways kids can help- with a few baskets or a laundry sorter they can be taught early to sort their laundry and other family members’ laundry, too. My son also loves loading up the clothes in the washing machine. I handle the detergent, but eventually older children can take on this task, too. He loves shaking in some Purex® Crystals into the laundry, and I show him how to set up the washing machine and we talk about what temperature different clothing should be washed on.
Purex Crystals provide a great scent at a great price! We love how we can get 12 weeks of freshness out of our laundry. They are super affordable, and can be picked up at many retailers, including your local Walmart. They are definitely a family favorite and we love picking out new and different scents to try. My husband always notices and remarks on good smelling laundry, too, so that’s a plus.
I knew he would love the Purex Crystals Warm Sandalwood and Vanilla scent, and I thought the Purex Crystals Tahitian Breeze would be perfect right now for Summer. You can get the classic Purex Crystals, Aromatherapy with Essential Oils, or the Botanicals which are new and don’t contain any dyes.
Purex Crystals are on Rollback at Walmart right now, too, so it is the perfect time to try them!
So, whichever stage your kids are at, you can get them started helping with laundry. Over time they can take on more responsibility, which is a big help for busy moms. I’m looking forward to my children being able to help with more chores eventually, and that starts by taking the time to teach them and show them how things are done.
Also don’t forget to download this free printable for your laundry room!
Getting kids excited now about household chores and starting them early with age appropriate responsibility will surely make all the difference in the long run. I think that children gain a lot of self-esteem and confidence from being able to do things that they see their parents doing everyday and honestly, mine just want to be involved. So, make it fun and you will have help with laundry in no time!
Don’t forget to check out Purex Crystals and grab your favorite scents while they are on on Rollback at Walmart!
