Free Printable Planner Stickers
Free printable planner stickers are stickers that bloggers and other creative people online have made and have offered up the digital files for you to print your own DIY planner stickers. This is a great way to use stickers in your planner without spending a lot of money on physical stickers. They can get pretty expensive, especially if you enjoy using sticker kits each week. Granted, lots of people also have PRINTABLE planner stickers for sale, too, like here in my printables shop, there are still so many great freebies to be found online.
You can sign up for my email list here and get access to my full library of free printable stickers.

Where to Find Them
You can find free printables in lots of different places. On Facebook, facebook groups, like this one I created, are a great place for everyone to share free printables, and for those who like using free printables to find things they like to download and use. Pinterest is another great place to find free printable planner stickers. I have a Pinterest board here that is just for free printable planner stickers. You can also search on Pinterest, just like you would Google for “free planner stickers” and you should be able to find tons. I have a few websites that I really like, and two of my favorites are lovelyplanner.com and designlovelystudio.com. Of course, you can always try your hand at Google, too, if there is something specific you are looking for.
How to Use Them
Using printable planner stickers really depends on how much you want to “get into it”… hahaha, you can print stickers on sticker paper and cut them out with scissors if you really want to, and that’s the easiest, fastest way to get started. I also would recommend a good cutting mat and an xacto knife, as many have said using that is easier than using scissors for getting your planner stickers cut out neatly. Then, if you really want to dive in you can purchase a cutting machine- most people use a silhouette cameo or portrait, or a cricut. There have been many debates over which machine is better, I’ll give my thoughts to that below. You’ll also need good sticker paper. I use Online Labels sticker paper for my business, and you can actually get their sticker paper on Amazon now, too! For printers, you don’t need a super high tech or fancy printer, a regular plain jane printer will do. For really great prints, a photo printer might be a better option, but this is not a must have for using printable planner stickers.
Now, when it comes to printing and cutting your printable planner stickers on your silhouette portrait, I do have a video that walks you through how to do that, here.

What Kind of Sticker Paper?
Now, even Online Labels has 100 different types of planner sticker paper. What kind you want to use really depends on your preference and how much you want to spend. Their matte sticker paper is just fine, I even use it in my sticker shop. However, they do have some other types that are really nice. Their glossy sticker paper is great if you are a glossy sticker lover, just be careful because only some pens, like a sharpie pen are able to write on this kind of paper. Then, their waterproof matte sticker paper is said to be the holy grail middle ground paper, it is smooth and creates some of the best prints for your stickers. But, the choice is up to you. If you don’t print super frequently, even Avery sticker paper will do the job for you.
Silhouette VS. Cricut
Okay so here is the great debate of silhouette versus cricut. I will start by telling you that I personally own 3 silhouette portraits for my shop, and have never owned a single cricut. My mother has owned both, so I got to hear her perspective a bit, but here are a few things to know. For starters, using printable stickers with the silhouette is easier than cricut, that’s because most sticker shops use silhouette machines and they include cut files for those machines. I know for many shop owners, the cricut is kind of a hassle for them to figure out and for their customers to use for their stickers. The learning curve with cricut is just a lot greater than with silhouette. Also, price is something to consider. Both the silhouette cameo and cricut cutting machines are super expensive. I only use silhouette portraits, because I don’t need to cut anything larger than 8 1/2 x 11 so they work perfectly for me. Plus, they are so much less expensive.

Now, for the final question that I get about printable planner stickers.
How do I make them?
Making your own planner stickers, whether for your own personal use, to share more freebies with others, or to sell on a platform like Etsy, is a lot of fun, and so easy once you understand how to work in Silhouette Studio and how to create the stickers you need and want to create.
I do teach how to do all of this in my course- Create Your Own Planner Stickers. You’ll learn how to create everything from basic sticker shapes to full kits, how to find fonts and graphics that are okay for commercial use- meaning you can sell what you create, and more!
