These Berry Blue Jello Shots are so much fun. perfect for Summer parties, and so, so easy to make. We kept it so simple with these shots using just the Berry Blue jello mix and Malibu coconut rum. They can then be enjoyed as is, or we topped ours with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry!

Here’s what you’ll need to make these Berry Blue Jello Shots-

• 2 (3 oz.) boxes of Berry Blue jell-o
• 2 cups boiling water
• 1 cup cold water
• 1 cup Malibu rum
• Optional: whipped cream and maraschino cherries

Directions:

Step 1: Whisk Berry Blue jello into 2 cups boiling water.

Step 2: Stir in cold water and Malibu.

Step 3: Use a large measuring cup to pour the jello mixture into 2 ounce plastic cups.

Step 4: Move the cups to the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.

Step 5: Before serving, add whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top of the blue gelatin, if desired.

What alcohol is good with Berry Blue jello?

Any regular flavored liquor will be great- think unflavored vodka, white rum, etc… we also love these with the Malibu coconut rum that we used for more tropical flavors, and any berry flavored liquor would be amazing. Blue raspberry vodka, Smirnoff Red White and Berry, or any other berry flavor!

Do you have to let the jello cool before adding alcohol?

This is totally not necessary. By the time we’ve whisked in the jello and added cold water, the temperature isn’t nearly as hot. We aren’t boiling the alcohol so it is just fine.

Where can I buy jello shot cups?

We get ours at Walmart, or on Amazon. These two ounce cups are with the regular plastic cups in stores, but you can get all kinds of different cups on Amazon!

Can I use a different liquor?

Yes! If you don’t love the taste of Malibu, feel free to use a rum or vodka that doesn’t have a flavor. Any clear liquor will work perfectly- even tequila!
