These Strawberry Jello Shots with Whipped Cream Vodka are such simple jello shots, and a perfect beginner’s recipe. They’re always a favorite, as everyone is a fan of strawberry, and the whipped cream vodka is so sweet and makes the vodka so smooth in these shots.
How to make Strawberry Jello Shots with Whipped Cream Vodka
You’ll need just a few ingredients for this strawberry jello shots recipe-
- 1 (6 oz.) box of Strawberry Jello
- 3 cups water, divided (2 for boiling, plus one cup of cold water)
- 1 cup vodka – whipped cream flavored (we used Pinnacle whipped)
- Whipped cream for topping
- Fresh strawberries for topping
- 16 (2 oz.) plastic jello shot cups
It doesn’t get much easier than that! These strawberry jello shots are such a fun adult treat, and it’s hard to go wrong with strawberry flavored if you are serving to a crowed. Though, you can essentially use any flavor of Jello you prefer. If you are looking for a whipped cream vodka, Smirnoff and Pinnacle both are great options. The whipped vodka flavor mixes perfectly with the strawberry jello flavor. We used Pinnacle whipped vodka. Here’s how to make them-
1. Place 16 (2 oz.) shot cups onto a shallow pan, like a rimmed baking sheet or cookie sheet. A muffin tin also works great and keeps the plastic shot glasses from sliding.
2. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
3. Remove the boiling water from the heat and whisk in Jello, stirring until dissolved.
4. Add in 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vodka, and stir.
5. Pour the jello mixture evenly into plastic cups, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
6. Before serving, top with whipped cream or cool whip, and fresh strawberries, for an easy, but fancy garnish.
Enjoy!
These are so easy and so tasty, such a simple jello shot recipe! If you like them you can experiment by switching to different flavors, with both the flavor of Jello mix and the vodka. Strawberry Whipped Cream Vodka Jello Shot FAQs
Do I have to use whipped cream vodka?
No way! For this strawberry jello shots recipe you can use any plain vodka, flavored vodka, or any different liquors really, you have on hand. The whipped cream vodka just takes these simple jello shots to a whole other level if you do have it. Cake vodka or strawberry vodka would also be delicious! I find that whipped cream vodka is delicious in so many jello shot and cocktail recipes, so we usually keep some on hand.
Can I add more liquor?
For this sized batch of jello shots, I don’t recommend replacing the cup water with more liquor. With that much alcohol, you risk them not setting properly. By using 1 cup for 16 shots, you get about 1/2 an ounce per jello shot, which is pretty good. If you wanted to put these into bigger shot cups, say 3 oz., you could double the recipe and get a little more liquor per jello shot that way.
Can these be made before hand?
Yes! Simply make the jello part, add lids, and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Once it is time, then add your whipped cream and fresh fruit. I wouldn’t store them for more than 36 hours.
Where should I buy plastic containers?
You can order those from Amazon, or, for the 2 oz. containers, I even find those at my local Walmart on the aisle with the other paper products and plastic cups. You can stock up on them so you have some available any time you feel like whipping up any jello shots recipe.
