This easy Gingerbread Dip has all of those warm gingerbread flavors we love at Christmas, but in a creamy dessert dip that takes about 10 minutes to make. It has plenty of cinnamon and ginger, a little molasses for that classic gingerbread flavor, and a fluffy cream cheese base.

Top it with cute gingerbread sprinkles and serve it with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, fruit, or whatever you have on hand for dipping. This is such an easy one to throw together when you need something festive but don’t necessarily want to bake another batch of Christmas cookies.
Easy Christmas Dessert Dip
Dessert dips are one of my favorite shortcuts for holiday parties because they’re so easy to make ahead of time. There’s no baking involved with this one, and most of the ingredients are things you can grab on a regular grocery run.
The molasses is really what gives this dip its gingerbread flavor, so I wouldn’t skip it. Combined with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and ginger, it makes the dip taste a little like gingerbread cookie dough, while the Cool Whip keeps everything light and fluffy.
I also love adding gingerbread sprinkles on top. They aren’t necessary for the flavor, but they make a simple bowl of dip look much more festive for Christmas.

Ingredients
You’ll need:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3 tablespoons molasses
- 8 ounces Cool Whip
- Gingerbread sprinkles
Make sure your cream cheese is softened before you start. Cold cream cheese can leave little lumps in the dip, while softened cream cheese will blend much more smoothly with the sugars and spices.

How to Make Gingerbread Dip
Add the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and molasses to a large mixing bowl. Mix everything together until it’s smooth and well combined.

Add the Cool Whip and mix again until it’s completely incorporated and the dip is light and fluffy.

Spoon the dip into your serving bowl and finish it with gingerbread sprinkles.

That’s it! You can serve it right away or pop it into the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve.
What to Serve With Gingerbread Dip
Graham crackers are especially good with this dip because the flavors work so well with the cinnamon and molasses. Vanilla wafers are another easy option, and they’re sturdy enough for scooping up plenty of dip.
You could also try ginger snaps, pretzels, apple slices, strawberries, shortbread cookies, or even pieces of broken waffle cone.
If you’re serving this for a Christmas party, put the dip in the center of a platter and arrange a few different dippers around it. It’s an easy way to turn a really simple recipe into a cute holiday dessert.

Gingerbread Dip FAQs
Can I make gingerbread dip ahead of time?
Yes! You can make this dip a day ahead and keep it covered in the refrigerator. I would wait to add the gingerbread sprinkles until you’re ready to serve it so they stay nice and bright.
What should I serve with gingerbread dip?
Graham crackers and vanilla wafers are two of my favorites, but ginger snaps, shortbread cookies, pretzels, apple slices, and strawberries are all good options. You can also put out a few different dippers and let everyone choose their favorite.
Can I use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?
You can, although the texture may be a little softer. Cool Whip helps the dip stay fluffy and hold its shape, which is especially helpful if you’re making it ahead for a party.
Does gingerbread dip need to be refrigerated?
Yes. Since it’s made with cream cheese and Cool Whip, keep it refrigerated until you’re ready to serve it and return any leftovers to the refrigerator.
Can I make this without molasses?
I wouldn’t recommend leaving it out. The molasses is a big part of what gives the dip that recognizable gingerbread flavor. Without it, you’ll have more of a cinnamon-spice cream cheese dip.
This gingerbread dip is one of those easy Christmas recipes that’s nice to have when you want something festive without turning on the oven. The warm gingerbread spices and molasses give it plenty of holiday flavor, and you can have the whole thing ready in about 10 minutes. Add some cute gingerbread sprinkles, surround it with your favorite cookies and dippers, and it’s ready for your next Christmas party or movie night.
