Apple Cider Mimosa
It’s no secret on this blog that I love a good mimosa. This apple cider mimosa is no exception, and it is so perfect for Fall. Also, can we just talk about how amazing this mimosa would be for Thanksgiving? Of all of my Fall cocktails, I think this one may be one of my favorite.
What is in a mimosa?
Traditionally, mimosas are made with champagne or sparkling wine, and a fruit or citrus juice. There can also be extras like vodka, triple sec, and even whisky. This mimosa is super simple- you can use just champagne and apple cider. We used Josh Cellars’ Prosecco for an inexpensive, yummy option. It pairs perfectly with the apple cider. I also do not recommend using sparkling apple cider, just because having two drinks that are bubbly may lead to carbonation overload. Regular apple cider works perfectly, and I usually find it in the produce section of my grocery store.
In this mimosa, there is-
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 2 ounces champagne
How do you make a mimosa?
To make this apple cider mimosa, it is so simple. First, you’ll want to garnish your glass.
How to garnish your glass
I used brown sugar to rim this glass, and my favorite way to do that is to line the rim of the glass with corn syrup. Corn syrup is really the best way to get your sugar to stick to your glass without half of it falling off, and it works great for sweet rims.
To do this, I’ll pour some corn syrup into a small saucer and dip the rim of the glass into it. Then, I sprinkle a layer of my brown sugar on another saucer, and dip the rim of my glass into it.
Also, I usually garnish my drinks with a piece of fresh fruit. In this case, I used a slice of honeycrisp apple. Aren’t honeycrisp apples the best??! However, I pour my drink first before adding the fruit.
Now , you are ready to pour your mimosa.
