Apple Cider Margarita
Who says margaritas aren’t for Fall? With this Apple Cider Margarita, you can bring a little Autumn to your margarita making. To make these, you just need apple cider, tequila, and some triple sec, plus some extras for garnish.
Margaritas are typically served with tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, so this is definitely a bit of a wild combination. I just love the addition that the apple cider gives, and you could even sub apple juice, if that’s something you’d prefer. We love Musselman’s apple cider, but you can even make your own apple cider.
There are many theories of how margaritas began, but they are Spanish in origin and typically have a salted rim and are garnished with lime slices or wedges. In our version, we bring this to the next level, as well, with limes, apple slices, and a cinnamon sugar rim garnish to complement the apple flavors. A cinnamon stick finishes this off and really gives the drink a Fall feel.
To make an Apple Cider Margarita, you’ll need-
- 1 oz. silver tequila
- 4 oz. apple cider
- .5 oz. triple sec or other orange liqueur
- Juice of one lime wedge
- Ice
Then, for the garnishing, you’ll need-
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- fresh apple slices
Directions
Step 1: In a small saucer, pour sugar into a shallow even layer. Add cinnamon. Give it a little stir.
Step 2: Take a lime wedge, and run it along the rim of your glass, then dip the rim of the glass into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
