Here’s what you’ll need to make these jello shooter syringes-

Syringe Jello Shots Ingredients

  • 2 (3 oz.) boxes of jello- you can choose your flavor of jello, either red jello (strawberry jello or cherry jello) or green (we used Sonic green apple jello).
  • 3 cups of cold water, divided
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 32 (1 oz.) plastic syringes for jello shots

Note: Using the Sonic green gelatin changes the instructions a bit, as the water required is different than the Jell-O brand. The main instructions on this recipe are for using Jell-O brand, but you’ll find instructions for the Sonic flavors below as well.)

Fun Flavor Ideas for Jello Shot Syringes

One of the best things about these jello shot syringes is how easy they are to customize for different holidays, parties, and events. You can easily switch up the gelatin flavors and colors to match your party. Think of all the possibilities- sports team colors, college colors for a College Graduation party, even pink syringes for a bachelorette party! Another possibility- berry blue jello for ocean or galaxy themed parties, or tropical flavors line pineapple or watermelon for Summer parties. These syringe shots are such a fun way to create colorful party “drinks” your guests will remember. My favorite part about the syringes- they’re EASIER to eat than jello shots in cups, AND the syringes are reusable once you hand wash them.

Where to buy Jello Shot Syringes

You can find plastic jello shot syringes online, at party supply stores, and sometimes at seasonal Halloween stores. Look for food safe syringes that are made specifically for drinks or party favors. We used these 1 ounce plastic syringes for this recipe, which are the perfect size for fun party shots. They even come with leak-proof caps which is vital for making these ahead of time. They come in bulk packs, which is the easiest and most affordable option if you are making these for a larger party or event.

How to Fill Jello Shot Syringes Easily

The easiest way to fill jello shot syringes is to slowly bull the gelatin mixture into the syringe while the mixture is still liquid. As long as you don’t refrigerate the jello mixture, it won’t solidify right away and you have plenty of time to get them filled. Preferrably, use syringes with a cap, but those can sometimes still leak, so either way you’ll want to place the syringes upright, plunger side down, in large cups, or you could use a tray full of solo cups. Pro tip- use a small amount of rice or beans in the bottoms of the cups to weigh them down so they don’t tip over.

Can you make Jello Shot Syringes ahead of time?

Yes! These syringe jello shots are perfect for making ahead for parties and holidays. You can prepare them 1-2 days before your event and keep them stored in the refrigerator until serving time. This makes them great for Halloween parties, St. Patrick’s Day, birthdays, tailgates, and themed events where you want to prep ahead.
