Today we’re going to talk about 5 reasons why you need a weekly meal planner. I love meal planning- there are 3 facets of my life that I know if I keep organized, I can get through my week without extra, unnecessary stress. Honestly, that’s why I focus on them so much here on the blog. If you haven’t guessed, it’s my budget, keeping my home clean, and planning my meals.

Here are 5 reasons why you need a meal plan-
It happens every night
Dinner happens every night, so why not be prepared? This is definitely my top reason. We know that it is coming- we have families to feed, and ourselves, and so we need to have a plan because it is going to happen whether we want it to or not, so take a few minutes at the beginning of the week, or on the weekend to get your plan in order so the rest of the week can run smoothly.
Save money on groceries
The best thing I’ve done for saving money on groceries is planning out my meals and just buying the ingredients I need for those. If you head to the grocery store without a plan, you’ll end up buying random things, you may not have everything you need, and you’ll more than likely overspend on things. When you do your meal plan it is so easy to in turn make your grocery list and only get what you need, plus to make sure you have everything you need for cooking that week.
Less stress every day
Mealtime is stressful in my home. Between trying to get everything ready to cook, cooking, and keeping my little ones entertained, it can be crazy. It is awful to add to that not having a plan, not knowing what I’m cooking, or worse, getting started, only to find out I’m missing ingredients. Mom life, in general, is stressful, so I try to help myself the best that I can. Meal planning is just one way I try to make that happen.
It saves time
I get frustrated, and I know my husband gets frustrated when I call him last minute on his way home and need him to stop at the grocery store. I mentioned before about missing ingredients, and that’s one way that meal planning helps. You’ll save time because you’ll have all of your ingredients. You’ll be able to gather all your supplies and get started cooking without any hiccups and interruptions which makes the whole process smoother and less stressful.
Get a variety of foods
By meal planning, you can make sure your family gets a variety of foods. You can also make sure that they’re getting their nutritional needs met, as well. Often, I’ll not only plan out dinners, but breakfasts, snacks, and lunches for my little ones. That way I know that they are getting all of the things they need.
I love my meal planning printables because they have everything to get you set up with your meal plan, your grocery list, and even keeping track of your family’s favorite meals.
