This Grinch Dessert Dip is such a fun Christmas treat. Perfect for Grinch movie nights, themed parties, or any occasion that calls for a fun Christmas dessert. You can serve this festive dip with cookies, pretzels, or any fruit that you love. We just love the vibrant color, how tasty, and how easy to make this dessert dip is.

Ingredients

• 1 box yellow cake mix *heat treated- see notes
• 8 ounces cream cheese
• 8 ounces cool whip
• Green gel food coloring
• Red heart sprinkles

Directions

Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

Step 2: Add in the cake mix, and cool whip, and mix to combine.

Step 3: Add a generous amount of green gel food coloring, and mix well, until there are no streaks.

Step 4: Add to your favorite serving bowl, and add heart sprinkles. Serve with cookies, fruit, or pretzels for dipping.

How to Heat Treat Cake Mix

When you are using cake mix or flour in any kind of no-bake recipe, you want to be sure and heat treat it, just to be safe. To do this, we will line a very large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, sprinkle the cake mix evenly into the pan in an even layer. Bake at 350 degrees for about 4-5 minutes, careful not to let the cake mix burn. After you’ve done this, your cake mix is perfectly safe to use in your recipe.
