We made these cute Christmas Brownies by cutting up our favorite boxed mix brownies and decorating them into Christmas tree brownies and reindeer brownies. They’re so easy and festive, making the cutest holiday treats.

Christmas Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 box milk chocolate brownie mix + ingredients from the box (water, oil, eggs)
  • 1 ½ sticks of butter (¾ cup) softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp. Milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Green gel food coloring (we used great value neon green gel)
  • Christmas sprinkles
  • 10 Mini pretzel twists
  • 4 brown M&Ms, 1 red
  • 10 candy eyes

Directions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit, and spray a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick spray, set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the brownie mix, according to the box directions.

Step 3: Pour the brownie batter into your prepared pan and bake according to the time recommendation on the box, about 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the brownies comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely.

Step 4: Once the brownies have cooled, cut out your triangle brownie pieces by cutting the entire pan of brownies in half length-wise. Then, divide the halves into triangles. You may have some extra brownie left on the ends that you can discard, or set aside.

Step 5: Remove the triangle brownies from the pan to decorate!

Step 6: Start by preparing the frosting for the Christmas tree brownies. Use a hand mixer to beat the sticks of butter until smooth.

Step 7: Add powdered sugar and beat to combine the sugar and butter until fluffy.

Step 8: Add the vanilla, and 1-2 tbsp of milk. Mix to combine.

Step 9: If needed, add the last tbsp. Of milk to reach your desired consistency.

Step 10: Finally, add a generous amount of the green gel food coloring and mix to incorporate, adding more if needed, until you reach your desired shade. If your frosting becomes too thin, add 2 tbsp of powdered sugar at a time, and mix, until you reach your desired consistency.

Step 11: To decorate, add a squiggle of the green frosting to your tree brownies, and top with Christmas sprinkles.

Step 12: For the reindeer, melt the chocolate by microwaving in a microwave safe bowl on 30 second increments, stirring well, until melted. Add the melted chocolate to a piping bag and snip off the tip. Use the chocolate to attach the candy eyes, pretzel antlers, and M&M noses.
