This green Witch’s Brew Punch is just so much fun! We skipped the alcohol in this recipe so it would be family-friendly and perfect for the kids during Halloween. I just love how it turned out, and I hope you get a chance to make your own during spooky season. This is the perfect beverage for a spooky movie night (ahem, Hocus Pocus) or even Halloween parties during spooky season! It is so tasty, and would be a hit with adults and kids alike, so the whole family will love it, and bringing this to a Halloween party would also be a great idea. Let’s talk about how to make it.

Witch's Brew Punch

You could call this spooky drink a witch’s brew punch, a green slime punch, there are so many options. We included gummy worms to make it extra fun for the kids, and some spooky spiders for decoration. It only takes 3 ingredients, plus some extra green food coloring and toppings, if desired. Here’s the full list of ingredients we used-

Witch’s Brew Punch Ingredients

  • (1) 2 Liter of Sprite lemon-lime soda
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 2 quarts of lime sherbet
  • 2-3 drops green gel food coloring
  • 1 bag of gummy worms for the punch bowl and adding to cups
  • Plastic spiders for decoration

Tip: You could, of course, easily make this punch orange by using orange sherbet and a couple of drops of orange food coloring. Or, if you love rainbow sherbet, use that flavor and make it either color, as well! You can definitely customize this to suit your tastes.

Witch’s Brew Directions

We love how simple this punch is- dump everything in your punch bowl, stir, and you are good to go. Here’s how we made it.

Step 1: Start by scooping out your sherbet and dropping it into a large punch bowl. You can put all of the sherbet in during this step, or put half in now, and then drop the other half in after we add our other ingredients.
Tip: This recipe has over 83 oz. of liquid included, plus the sherbet. Make sure your punch bowl is large enough to hold everything. If not, you’ll want to half the recipe!

Step 2: Drop in a few drops of food coloring, if you choose to use that, and pour in pineapple juice.

Step 3: Pour in Sprite, and give the punch a gentle stir. Add in any extras you’d like- gummy worms, decorative spiders, more sherbet, etc..

Important: If serving this to younger spookies, skip the gummy worms and spiders. They’re easy to skip over when passing out punch, but could be a choking hazard in little ones’ drinks. You could serve the gummies on the side.

Witch's Brew Punch

This green Halloween punch recipe (non alcoholic) is such a fun and festive recipe for Halloween. It will be a big hit at your next Halloween party. If you are interested in substituting ingredients in this fun Halloween party punch, here are some ideas-

Substitutions

Sherbet- As we mentioned you can substitute the lime sherbert for any flavor you prefer. We love the taste of rainbow sherbet, and orange is delicious, as well.

Soda- You could swap the Sprite lemon lime soda for ginger ale, 7 up, or another soda you prefer.

Juice- You could swap the pineapple juice for orange juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, or other fruit juices you like. Just keep the color in mind if you are going for an orange or green punch.

Other spooky toppings- Try adding candy eyeballs, gummy body parts, halloween sprinkles, or any other creepy candies you find.

Colors- We used green food coloring to give our punch a little extra green color. You can do this with any color punch you decide to make, just find the corresponding food coloring!

Halloween Punch FAQs

How can I make my Halloween punch smoke?

Dry ice is what makes drinks smoky. It is a very cold substance, so use caution when using it. You can find it at many smaller grocery stores, you’ll just need to ask at customer service. Always wear gloves and use tongs when handling dry ice. I don’t like to place dry ice directly into a drink because it can be dangerous, but what I recommend is finding a large black cauldron, and a smaller plastic punch bowl that will easily fit inside of it. You can put your punch into the punch bowl and put the dry ice around in between the punch bowl and the cauldron. This way, your cauldron smokes, and the dry ice keeps your punch bowl cold! This is definitely the safest way to enjoy dry ice.

Can I make this without a punch bowl?

Absolutely! You could serve this in a large pitcher, a large trifle bowl, or any large bowl you have, really. I use my largest pyrex mixing bowl!

Can I spike this punch?

Absolutely. If you are only serving adults that would be a super fun way to make this punch even better. Even though this is a non-alcoholic punch you can definitely add in your favorite liquor- I would recommend regular vodka or flavored vodka- something that would mesh well with the other flavors in your punch. Since this serves 16 total, I would add 1 – 1 1/2 cups of vodka to the bowl.
