Leftover Halloween Candy Cookies

These leftover Halloween candy cookies might just be the best cookies I’ve ever made. It depends on the candy you use, of course, but I’ll share some tips on that. Melted candy bars baked inside of delicious cookies just can’t be beat! This recipe is such a good use for some of that leftover candy, I know my kids always come back with a ton of candy and this is a great way to get some of it used up. These cookies turn out chewy and so delicious.

Leftover Halloween Candy Cookies

Leftover Candy Cookie Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups leftover Halloween candy, chopped into small pieces (chocolate candies like candy bars, reese’s peanut butter cups, M&Ms work best)

The Best Candy to Put in Cookies

The best kind of candy bars to use in these leftover candy cookies are Milky Way, Snickers, and Twix. Almond Joys and Kit Kats would also be delicious. You can really use whatever are your favorite candy bars, but we really loved the candy bars that had caramel, the caramel baked into the cookies was delicious! I don’t recommend using leftover candy corn, unless you just really like that flavor.

Candy Cookie Directions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit

Step 2: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, set aside.

Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 4: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer or stand mixer to beat butter and mix sugars until light and fluffy.

Step 5: Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 6: Gradually mix in dry ingredients mixture.

Step 7: Fold in chopped candy pieces until well dispersed.

Step 8: Use a medium cookie scoop to scoop cookie dough onto parchment paper covered baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.

How to store Leftover Halloween Candy Cookies

You can store your baked cookies at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days, or up to a week in the refrigerator.

Candy Cookie Tips

  • You can reserve a cup or so of extra bits of candy to place on the top of the cookies after baking.
  • I wouldn’t use any other candy types. Fruity and gummy candies might not be too great inside of cookies, but that’s just my opinion.
  • We couldn’t believe how good this cookie recipe turned out, the perfect way to help when you end up with so much candy after Halloween. Be sure and make a batch of these cookies the week after Halloween this year. You will be glad you did!
